About
PixelKit is a free set of image and PDF tools that run directly in your web browser. You can compress a photo to fit an upload limit, resize it to exact pixels, convert between formats, remove a background, or merge and split PDFs, without creating an account and without sending your files to anyone.
What makes PixelKit different
Most online converters upload your file to their server, process it there and send the result back. That means a copy of your ID scan, contract or family photo sits on someone else’s computer, at least for a while. PixelKit takes a different approach: the work happens on your own device.
The tools use technology that is already built into modern browsers, such as the Canvas API for images, together with well-known open-source libraries like Mozilla’s PDF.js for reading PDF files. Your files are loaded into your browser’s memory, processed there, and handed back to you as a download. When you close or reload the tab, they are gone.
- No upload. Your images and PDFs are never sent to our server, so there is nothing for us to store, view or lose.
- No account, no limits. Open a tool and use it. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no daily cap on how many files you process.
- Honest about your device. Because the processing happens locally, speed depends on your phone or computer. A very large PDF can take longer on an older device, and we would rather tell you that than hide it.
The one tool that needs an extra download is Remove Background. It uses an AI model that your browser downloads the first time you use it. The model then runs on your device, and your photo is not sent anywhere.
