JPG is the format that opens everywhere: older software, government portals, printing kiosks and email clients all accept it. Many images arrive in less widely supported formats, such as HEIC photos from an iPhone, WebP images saved from websites, TIFF scans or BMP files from older programs. This converter turns PNG, GIF, WebP, BMP, SVG, TIFF and HEIC files into JPG, several at a time, so you can fix a whole batch in one pass.
The conversion runs in your browser. Personal photos and scanned documents are not uploaded, and there is no limit on the number of files.
JPG is a lossy format designed for photographs, and it has no transparency, so transparent areas in PNG, WebP or SVG files are filled in. For photos the visual difference is usually negligible; for logos and cut-outs with transparent backgrounds, PNG is the better format to keep.
Converting does not aim at a specific file size. When a form sets a KB limit, run the JPGs through Compress Image. To go the other way, from JPG to PNG or GIF, use Convert from JPG.
HEIC is supported by this tool. It is the format iPhones use by default, and converting to JPG makes the photo open anywhere.
JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled in. If you need to keep them, stay with PNG - see Convert from JPG for the other direction.
Conversion does not target a file size. Run the result through Compress Image to bring it under a specific limit.
